We're excited to announce a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing cybersecurity in the industrial sector. In a strategic partnership with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, we have funded the establishment of a cutting-edge IoT testbed within the university's Computer Engineering Department. This collaborative initiative is designed to drive innovation in securing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), IoT, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems against the growing wave of cyber threats.
In recent years, the digital transformation of industrial systems has accelerated at a rapid pace. Industries ranging from manufacturing and energy to utilities and transportation have embraced interconnected technologies that improve efficiency, productivity, and visibility. However, with increased connectivity comes increased vulnerability. Malicious actors are targeting industrial systems more frequently and with greater sophistication, exploiting vulnerabilities in sensors, gateways, and control systems to disrupt operations, steal data, or worse—cause physical harm.
Traditional security solutions, while essential, often fall short in dynamic, decentralized environments like IIoT and SCADA. These systems require a new kind of defence—one that is adaptive, predictive, and autonomous.

At the heart of this project is the development of a next-generation, AI-powered self-healing IIoT network. This system is being designed with several core objectives in mind.
Using machine learning models, the system will anticipate potential device or network failures before they occur, based on behavioral patterns, environmental factors, and historical data
When failures or anomalies are detected, the system will intelligently reroute traffic, adapt network topologies, and maintain operational continuity in real-time
If a cyber threat is identified, the network will contain the issue automatically—quarantining compromised nodes and preventing lateral movement—without waiting for human intervention.
These capabilities aim to drastically reduce response times, minimize human error, and ensure that industrial operations remain secure and uninterrupted—even during active cyberattacks.
The testbed at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will serve as a simulated industrial environment, replicating the complexity of real-world systems and infrastructures. It will enable researchers, faculty, and students to develop and evaluate cybersecurity mechanisms in a live, controlled setting. From testing new intrusion detection models to refining AI algorithms for threat response, the testbed will act as a launchpad for innovations that can be translated into real-world applications.
By simulating diverse industrial use cases—like power grid monitoring, water treatment operations, or automated manufacturing lines—the testbed ensures that solutions are practical, scalable, and adaptable across sectors.

This partnership represents more than financial support; it reflects a shared vision between industry and academia. We believe that when forward-thinking organizations collaborate with world-class academic institutions, remarkable things happen. Together, we are fostering a multidisciplinary ecosystem where ideas can be explored, technologies can be tested, and tomorrow’s cybersecurity leaders can be trained.
We are especially proud to be supporting an initiative that not only tackles one of the most urgent challenges in industrial cybersecurity but also contributes to academic excellence and talent development.

As the testbed becomes operational, we’ll be working closely with the research team at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham to track progress, share findings, and bring insights back into the industry. We are committed to transparent knowledge exchange and will provide regular updates through our blog and other communication channels.
This is just the beginning. Our collaboration lays the groundwork for a future in which connected industrial systems are not just smart—but also secure, resilient, and self-defending.
